Seven C&C athletes took part in the U20/U23 and Senior England Championships at Birmingham which took place on the 19th, 20th and 21st July.
Samuel Clarke won a bronze medal in the Senior Men’s 400m hurdles in a time of 52.19. He also qualified for the Senior Men’s 110m hurdles final where he came seventh.
Thomas Bridger ran a great race finishing second but the first U23 athlete in the 3000m steeple chase in a time of 9:06.44.
The U20 women’s 3000m had two representatives from the club with Isabel Mansley finishing in sixth place with team mate Jenny Leggate finishing in eighth.
Holly Field was taking part in her first national championships and made the final where she finished eighth in the U23 Triple Jump with a leap of 11.18m. Holly is a an athlete who has improved her distances considerably this season with consistent jumping over 11 metres.
The club’s sprinters were represented by Paul Lambrecht (U20m 100m and 200m) where he finished fifth in the heats in both distances. Thomas Abbott (U23m 200m) finished sixth in the heat.
