There were 441 senior and 167 junior runners at the first Frostbite Match of 2020, 28 of which in total were Cambridge & Coleridge AC members. Although wet underfoot, conditions were dry and breezy and we were even treated to some blue in the Fenland skies above.
The juniors came an impressive third as a team behind Hunts AC and Riverside. Ewan Taylor and Isaac Pembury finished 9th& 12thin under 9.00 minutes and Immy Pembury finished 6thjunior female overall, on the same legs that had won her a place in the Regional Schools XC Champs the day before.
A superb senior turnout of 22 runners won C&C a fifth place finish in the match, which was won by Riverside Runners. C&C’s John Baslington completed the course in a tremendous fourth place overall and Maria Buczak was 6thfemale to cross the finish line.
The Club is currently in 5th& 6thplace out of sixteen Clubs in the season’s league for Seniors and Juniors respectively, with two meets to go at Bourne and Huntingdon. For full details visit http://www.frostbiteleague.org.uk/Results/Results.htm
