Frostbite Friendly No 3 (2021-2022)
The third match of the season took place at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Sunday 12th December – a day that brought much milder weather than in the preceding days and even a spot of sunshine.
In the Junior Race at 10.15am, 130 Juniors ran the 1.5-mile course around the Park and Tom Bullock and Phoebe Ewles were the first boy and girl Club members over the finish line. There were some super performances from those that ran, and C&C finished 10th of 15 with a handicap as the team was one scorer short.
A record 29 C&C Seniors ran the five-mile route through trees and meadows, with a short stretch of Brampton Road thrown in for good measure. There were 397 runners in total and C&C finished in a fantastic second place. Fastest male and female runners were Sullivan Smith and Jess Cocker, with first-timers Brogan McCawley and Isobel Mastrolonardo following close behind.
At this stage in the League, C&C Seniors are in 2nd place and Juniors are in 5th position. There are three meets to go in the New Year and the first is on Sunday 16th January, at March.
