C&C had three athletes selected for this years SIAB XC Championships on the 22nd March at Falkirk.
The ESAA fields National teams in the Schools International Athletics Board (SIAB) competitions which involve England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Cross Country teams for the SIAB match are selected at Junior (Under 15) and Intermediate (Under 17) levels. These selections are made after the English Schools Championships which were held on the 15th March. Jasmine Christmas (Intermediate) qualified for the English team by finishing second, Harry Cantell (Junior) also finished second and Finn MacLennan (Intermediate) finished seventh to secure his England vest. The top eight qualified for the SIAB match.
The three athletes wore their England kit with pride with Jasmine finishing second, Harry was fifth and Finn tenth.
Coach Ric Park stated that it was C&C’s best ever day at the English Schools match and in the past ten years we have had three athletes selected to represent their country so to have three selected this year is exceptional.
