The East Region Volunteer Awards were held in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 7th October. This rounded off a series of recognising and rewarding volunteers up and down England.
C&C were the only club to be shortlisted for three awards which recognises the huge contributions that the club’s volunteers make to athletics in the area.
Club stalwart Noel Moss won the Services to Athletics and Running Award. There were three outstanding candidates in this category and all three were announced as winners.
Mo Park was awarded the Project of the Year Award as he played a major role in the project to build a track adjacent to Carver Barracks near Saffron Walden which has enable the club to offer high quality coaching at another location for our members.
C&C were announced as runners up for the Cub of the Year award narrowly missing out to fellow Cambridgeshire club Werrington Joggers.
