Club Records

2024 was an extremely successful year for all the disciplines that the club participate in. Many club records were broken. Congratulations to all the new record holders. It’s fantastic to see so many new records being set across all the age groups and disciplines from Under 13 to Over 75!  However, there are still other records that have remained standing for many years. Two of the oldest Club records are:

Graham Tuck’s 2000m S/C of 5:54.0 from 1969, and David Percival’s Long Jump of 7.12 from 1968. So, there’s a good challenge for you if you do those events!

Here is the full list although this does not include Steve Vandermark’s M55 Pole Vault performance (2.40m) which equalled Noel Moss’ record set back in 2000.

We are grateful to Charlie Wartnaby for supplying the information.

At the London Indoor Games at Lee Valley, even though it is only just over two weeks into 2025 Leah Wagstaff broke the U20 60m hurdles record (tbc) in a very quick 8.59 which also exceeds the qualification time for this year’s indoor British Athletics Championships in February. This is an amazing achievement as Leah is competing as a first year U20 and was injured for a lot of the 2024 season. Leah also had to adjust to higher hurdles and increased distance between each barrier as she moved up an age group. Well done Leah!
