On the 17th July we were able to host the Wimpole 10k and picnic at Wimpole Estate. It was great to see so many runners and families turn up. The weather held out well for us, albeit a little humid for the run. I appreciate the course was slightly long, due to me having to make a detour last minute to avoid a very muddy section – that’s cross-country! We had representatives from C&C, HI Runners, Royston Runners and the 10k Tourists, as well as some unaffiliated runners, all supporting us. Although it is lined up as an all inclusive club run, I feel it still important to highlight the pace at the front, with Sullivan Smith (C&C) out “cross-countrying” Tom Vickery (C&C) to finish first in an impressive 36:35. First lady was Emma Ford (C&C) holding off Anna Klucnika (C&C) by 4 seconds to come home first lady in 43:12. First veterans were Martin Sewell (C&C) and Claire Galpin (HI Runners)

Thank you, also, to the volunteers who helped lay on a safe event. The great news is we raised ยฃ380 for Wimpole Estate and really appreciate them allowing us to enjoy their beautiful grounds. Looking forward to next year, already
