C&C are celebrating two gold medals from the South of England(SEAA) Senior and U20 Track and Field Championships at Eton on the 8th and 9th June.
Aedan Lydon (U20M), ran his first track 5,000m to win gold in a time of 15:17.78 with the second place athlete running 15:19.17. The second gold of the weekend was won by Samuel Clarke, who is returning from injury. Samuel ran a season’s best (SB) 53.45 in the Senior Men’s 400m hurdles heat which made him the fastest qualifier. In the final, Samuel demonstrated that he is returning to the form that saw him finish fourth at last year’s England Championships as he was a clear winner in a time of 51.85 with the second place athlete running 53.28. Hopefully we will get to see Samuel in action at the British Championships at the end of the month.
David McQueen secured the bronze medal in the U20m with a leap of 6.41m.
Asha Soanes placed fourth in the SW javelin with a throw of 33.89m and followed that up with a sixth place in the SW long jump.
Training partners Maria Amojo (U20W) and Sam Richards(SM) competed in the long jump with distances of 4.97m and 5.77m respectively.
C&C were also represented in the sprints with Thomas Abbott (U20M) making theΒ 200m final qualifying with a PB of 22.21 +0.9 followed by 22.29 +2.8 in the final.
