Training
Young athletes’ Monday night training goes back to the track on Monday 22nd February, under floodlights.
Please note the session times have changed: U13s (years 6 and 7) register at 6.20 for a 6.30 start. We are not allowed on the track until 6.30. The session will finish at 7.30.
U15s (years 8 and 9) register from 7.00 for warming up and for training to start at 7.30. The session will finish at 8.30.
The club room at the track has been refurbished in the last few weeks. Please treat it with care. If we mess it up, we don’t have another track to go to. The change of times results from negotiations with the University and the need to take into account the preferences of other users. We realise the new times will be less satisfactory for some people and more satisfactory for others but please accept that we have done the best we can. The University treat us very well and we have to show some flexibility.
The dates and venues for other age groups' winter training are as below:
Tuesday training continues at the track from 6.30-8.30. Floodlights will be available from October.
Thursday Thursday training is from Chesterton Sports Centre. Strength and conditioning sessions will take place in the Sports Hall. Endurance sessions will start from the Sports Centre. Endurance sessions start at 6.30; other session start times vary - please check with your coach. These Chesterton sessions are intended for U17 and older athletes.
Saturday training is available from 10.00-12.00 at the track. Training is available only by invitation from coaches. Please ask if you wish to take part in Saturday training.
There are a variety of training groups, primarily focusing upon different disciplines and age-groups but also to ensure that groups do not get too large.
