Ed Aston won the silver medal in the England Athletics Senior 800m championships at Gateshead on 18th July.

Congratulations to all our English Schools competitors for their good performances, but especially by Ben Kelk - 3rd in U20 Mens 110 Hurdles, and Morgan Young - 4th in U15 Boys Javelin.

Another new Senior men's 800m record for Ed Aston of 1.47.96 in the BMC Grand Prix at Solihull on July 10th

Charlotte Cox added the DSE Under 20's 100m and 200m Gold medals to the double silvers she won in the Mencap National Championships.

4th place for Ed Aston at the UKA Trials in Birmingham, just missing out on a medal place, while Ian Williamson set a new personal best in the 1500m.

National Championship win for Ben Kelk in the Under 20 mens 100m hurdles in the U20/U23 championships at Bedford. Ben ran 13.86 in the heats and 13.87 in the final. A new personal best but tantalisingly just six hundredths short of Jon Ridgeons club record set in 1984.

Gold for Ben Kelk in the 110m Under 20 mens hurdles at the SEAA Championships on June 12th

C&C has been awarded clubmark status once again (on 4th June).  England Athletics sent the following note:

The Clubmark Folder has just been assessed this morning and I’m pleased to inform you that it has successfully passed. Alex Copeland (National Club Development Officer) commented that it was the best folder (across all sports) that he has ever seen, so well done to you and everyone at the club.

C&C almost swept the board for age-group trophies at the County Championships - eight out of nine this year, one better than 2009. Ben Kelk set a new championship best performance in the Under 20 mens 110m hurdles. All results now in the track and field results pages.

The first competition between the Community Clubs took place recently.  See the Cambridge News report here
