Beginners' & Monday Running Group

If you are a beginner or non-runner (aged 15 or above), just come down and join us any Monday (except Bank Holidays) at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start - just introduce yourself to the running leader that evening, and they will look after you and introduce you to the session.

Our NEXT FREE Beginners' 10 week running course will commence on Monday 8th May 2017. Just turn up to the University Sports ground, Wilberforce road at 6.30pm and ask for Fiona. There will be a brief introduction to the 10 week course starting at 6.45pm in the foyer near the reception desk, then we will do some running! Come dressed to run. Please note there are no sessions on a BH Monday (29th May). Monday night running group:
On Mondays there are sessions for runners who on average run at 9 minutes per mile pace, and slower. This group runs throughout the year (excluding Bank Holidays). In addition to this group, we have periodic 10 week introduction-to-running courses for complete beginners see information re this course above.


Monday adult running group meets at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start at the University Sports Ground, Wilberforce road. We meet in the foyer of the main building. Introduce yourself to the leader of the session, and they will welcome you and introduce you to the session for the evening.

Please try to wear white or reflector tops for night running for safety reasons.

There are lots of reasons to get up and running even if you can only walk, and maybe jog a little bit, at present:
• Lose weight
• Improve health & fitness
• De-stress
• Feel good
• Have fun and meet new friends
So why not take that small, but important step now? This group is designed for total beginners to running. All sessions will have a fun walk/run element to slowly improve your fitness over a period of time. Come down any evening to meet the leaders, and give us a go.

  • English Schools 2017 +

    Congratulations to our English Schools medallists. Thomas Keen (U17M 3000m), Julia Paternain (U20W 3000m) and Adelaide Omitowoju (U17W Triplejump) all took gold, and Stephanie Browne took silver in U15Girls Hammer. Unlucky Jordan Wood was 4th in the U20Mens steeplechase.

    C&C had 16 competitors in the Cambridgeshire team and one in the Bedfordshire team.

  • Scottish U20W 60m Hurdles champion +

    Finlay Marriott was a clear winner of the Scottish Under 20 Womens Indoor 60m Hurdles Championship at the Emirates Arena on 11th February with a time of 8.90 secs.

  • Superb County XC results +

    Magnificent results from the County Cross-country Championships.  C&C destroyed the competition.  Congratulations to all athletes and coaches.  For full results click here and for a match report click here 

  • Christmas Party +

    This year's C&C Christmas Party will be held at Anglia Ruskin University on Friday 15th December. There will be a salsa band and a buffet. Open to all C&C members and their guests. To buy a ticket  click here
